Skofja Loka (29km/18 miles) - Slofja Loka is a medieval town surrounded by hills and mountains. Among the towns many ancient rural architectural sights are Loka castle, which houses the Loka museum of natural heritage, art and general history of the Skofja Loka area, the 14th century stone bridge and the church of st. Capuchin James with its star-vaulted ceiling, tall bell tower and portraits of Bishops, saints, workers with shears and a blacksmith. The Skofja Loka hills to the west is a region of deep valleys, steep slopes and ravines and is an excellent area for walking and hiking.
