Krvavec (15km/9miles) - Krvavec has so far received more than 20 awards as the best ski resort in Slovenia. The Krvavec ski slope itself was awarded the Crystal Snowflake, a special award given after it received five Golden Snowflake awards as the best ski resort in Slovenia.

The ski resort extends across 106 hectares, 56 hectares of which have been converted into ski-slopes with a combined length of around 35 km. On 90% of the ski-slopes and on the cross-country ski-course, natural snow is backed up by artificial snow. The ski-slopes can be used by 4,500 skiers a day, while the ski lifts and chair lifts can handle up to 13,500 persons per hour. In the summer, the mountain ski center with its diverse terrain transforms into a welcoming oasis for hikers and mountain bikers while the numerous paragliders above Krvavec provide a special touch of magic. Krvavec is also well known for its many medicinal herbs that colour the green grasslands in the summer. Recommended is is a walk to Plecnik's Marija Snezna chapel, built in 1929.
