Bohinj (70km/43 miles) - The Bohinj lake/valley lies within the Triglav National Park, there are many things to see and do in all seasons of the year, bikes and canoes may be hired to get around and see the area at your own pace, take a boat out on the lake to relax and see the trout and other fish in the glacial, crystal-clear water, make use of the two beaches (one a nudist beach) then swim in the lake to cool off in summer and skate on the lake ice in winter when the lake is frozen.

The vogel cable car lies at the Western end of the lake, where you can take the ride up the mountain for spectacular views of the lake and the Julian Alps, once at the top there are ski-lifts operating for most of the year to take you higher if you wish, there are numerous walking trails to enjoy and mountain hut cafes are open to seve lunches, dinner and drinks throughout the year.

Many more outdoor activities are catered for locally by various compaines, including hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, sport climbing, mountaineering, horse riding, fishing , hydrospeed, canyoning, kayaking, canoeing and rafting to name but a few.
