Slovenia boasts over 25 ski resorts many of which are within the immediate area of the Chalet, the nearest being only a short drive away. Because the region lies on the first mountain barrier above the Adriatic Sea, substantially more snow falls here than anywhere else of similar altitude in the Alps, enabling the season to usually begin in December and last until early May.
