At the castle, visit the outlook tower for panoramic views of the city and surrounding areas.The cafe scene is well established and visitors can enjoy soaking up the atmosphere and doing a little people-watching, while enjoying drinks at one of the many riverside cafe bars. LAKES BLED AND BOHINJ

Lake Beld is smaller than lake Bohinj, however it's shores are more commercialized with a good selection of shops, restaurants and cafe bars to try the local cuisine or just enjoy a coffee with a stunning view. The much photographed islet, complete with a romantic church, fairytale castle overlooking the lake.

KAMNIK

Kamnik is a lovely old town, surrounded by green hills and high peaks of the Kamniske Alps. This popular small town has some good supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, bars, banks, post office and other shops where all provisions can be bought. Bike hire is available throughout the year from the tourist information centre.

Velika Planina - An extensive alpine plateau in the Kamnik Alps. It is one of the largest areas of pastures in Slovenia. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were over 100 shepherds' huts here. They are among the most picturesque alpine dwellings.
